This year, the Boss Babes Project will host another workshop at The Inside Shop with the aim of creating an inviting and supportive environment for the region's business women.

"The purpose of the project is to give women a space or opportunity to feel like they're not alone," Boss Babes Project owner Jess Inder said.

"We do a lot around workshops and events basically re-iterating the importance of networking and collaboration, sort of removing competition from business.

One of the main factors that attribute to the success of a business in the eyes of Ms Inder is self love which is a key part of the workshop.

"I found that unless you make self love a priority, you can't look after your business to the same capacity," she said.

"Unless you're honest about what you need and what aligns with your values, you can't be genuine about what you're doing as a business and that's why it was really important to me to bring self love in."

As a Goolma local, Jess is no stranger to the popularity of careers in mining and farming, but says retail is what makes Mudgee a top destination.

"Everyone's a farmer or everyone works in the mines, there's all these different things, and I understand they're really important, my family works in those industries, but at the same time, it's the shops in town that bring all the tourism in," she said.

"Tourism and retail is very high up there with what keeps the town going, and unless you look after those businesses, people miss out.

While business is a competitive field, Ms Inder says that's not the way it has to be but rather a 'way of life'.

"Business doesn't have to be about briefcases and flow charts and all the really serious stuff, it's actually a way of life," she said.

Ms Inder encourages all businesswoman in the Mudgee region to attend the Boss Babes Project workshop if looking for guidance in a tricky situation as well as support from others in a similar field.

"If you're looking to collaborate and network to grow your business but also show that they're supportive of the other businesses in town then this is the perfect opportunity to get some help and brainstorm but also offer a helping hand," Jess said.

"You don't have to promote that your business is the best in town, you can actually sit down and say what you're struggling with and what you're trying to achieve and saying 'I just need some help with it'."

The workshop will be held at The Inside Shop on March 28 commencing at 5.45pm.
