Much to the benefit of Goolma after taking out the minor premiership spot, they had the fortune of batting first taking 4/79 with Dillon Price on 17no and Bill Honeysett on 25no, before the game was called to a close.
"They waited as long as they could until the umpires and captains called it and unfortunately that was the end of the day so it was all over by lunch," GDCA spokesperson Jeff Rayner said.
"It was just mother nature interfering. To be honest we were happy for the rain out here but it was just one of those things that happen, unfortunately it was on our grand final day."
Heading into the grand final as minor premiers meant Goolma had the upper hand against Centennial who came from third to make it to the last clash of the season.
"There's a beauty of being the minor premiers," Rayner said.
"There's two things, they go straight into the grand final, and the other benefit is that fact that if this situation occurs [a wash out], they get a better chance of possibly winning."
Being minor premiers and getting the benefit of a washout, it's not like it's undeserved, they've essentially been the benchmark in the competition all year.

After playing in five grand finals over a course of six years never taking the crown, 2019 undoubtedly was there year of Goolma as they took their first premiership title after years of falling just short.
Their win came as no surprise as the side were said to be the 'benchmark' team throughout the year.
"It's a massive thing for them and they certainly enjoyed it. It's certainly not a surprise at all," Jeff said.
"I think they were the benchmark all the way through the year.
"Being minor premiers and getting the benefit of a washout, it's not like it's undeserved, they've essentially been the benchmark in the competition all year.
In a lot of ways it's right they take the premiership home.
