"One of the greatest things I have had the opportunity to do in the last eight years is witness individuals in our community who contribute so much and recognise and honour those people," Mr Grant said.
Coral McFarland, Donna Collins and Sandy MacMahon were nominated for the Citizen of the Year Award for 2019, and each received a Dubbo Electorate Award.
Coral was nominated for an award by Mudgee Mental Health Services for her contribution and dedication to mental health in the Mudgee area.
2019 marks the 50th year Coral has worked as a nurse in the field of Mental Health Services for Western Area Health NSW.
Hopefully what my efforts have been within the community not only for mental health but other things as well have been received and people live a better life for it.
- Coral McFarland

Donna Collins began the community shop in Byron Place two years ago with the ultimate aim to support the community.
Donna, alongside her team, have been apart of many programs including a drought relief program that has handed out $9000 emergency stockfeed, $2500 petrol vouchers, $1300 Mudgee Monday cards, 362 family food hampers and 207 car packages.
"A lot of people think 'Ok, it rained' but they don't see the $30,000 a month interest loans, they don't see the $15,000 a week stockfeed bills, they don't see the locked gates of the farmers who cannot pay their electricity bills," she said.
We'll be here for the long run and hopefully supporting everyone.

Sandy MacMahon also received a Dubbo Electorate Award for her dedication to providing safe and loving homes for children who have come from abusive, violent or neglectful environments.
Sandy has provided a home to over 150 children and young people for over 40 years.
"She's a very worthy award winner," Mr Grant said.
