NSW Waratahs outclassed Melbourne Rebels in all facets of their Super W match at Bathurst's Ashwood Park on Sunday, recording a 66-12 win to book hosting rights for the grand final.

A four-try game from Shanice Parker and a physically dominant Waratahs defence took apart a Rebels side who, with nothing to lose, threw everything at their opponents.

"To take a game out here was a big thing we wanted to do, and engage with the local community. That's something I think we've done quite well. That side of it was great," Waratahs coach Matthew Evrard said.

"The game wasn't an easy one. There were a few changes we made during the week and the ball was a bit greasy underfoot.

"We let them into the game a couple of times with our defensive errors in the first half but it's always good to have a few things to work on but we've got two weeks to look at that now."

Maya Stewart got the Waratahs on the board after just 50 seconds of play when she dived on a kick to the left corner for the opening points of the match. 

A big run from Grace Hamilton helped set up the second of the Waratahs' tries in the seventh minute when prop Evelyn Horomia dived over from close range for a 12-0 lead.

On the next Rebels set the ball was intercepted at the half way line by Arabella McKenzie who went on to score a converted try between the uprights.

Tyra Boysen-Auimatagai got Rebels on the board with an intercept try of her own in the 19^th minute, coming off the back of more positive pieces of Melbourne play.

The reply from the Waratahs was swift when back-to-back tries from Ashleigh Hewson and Shanice Parker pushed the score out to 33-7.

Fancy footwork from Parker helped her weave through the Rebels defence for her second try.

Rebels managed to land their second try of the day after the half-time siren when a pinpoint wide pass from Meretiana Robinson allowed fullback Tangata Tupou to score in the corner and make it 40-12 at the break.

Melissa Fatu made a big impact off the bench when she got the Waratahs on the board again with a try just five minutes into the new half.

Errors became prevalent as the rain began to fall but it didn't stop Waratahs producing the try of the day in the 54^th minute.

Kennedy Cherrington broke through the Rebels' defensive line, found Hewson in support who in turn delivered a great inside ball to Parker for her hat-trick try.

Parker made it four tries on the hour mark before Fatu's second five-pointer of the half blew the score out to 66-12, following the conversion.

Rebels had several chances to score over the closing five minutes but the Waratahs defence kept them at bay.

"It was great to see Shanice get some confidence up out wide while Ash Hewson was as good as ever," Evrard said.

"Emily Robinson carried really well for us and set a good platform from the front. Both the local girls were excellent with Gracie Hamilton having a big game and Arabella McKenzie producing plenty of good plays out there for such a young player."​
