Each year local schools - Dunedoo Central School, Gulgong High School, KandosHigh School, Mudgee High School, and St Matthew's Catholic School - nominate a junior and senior recipient with an outstanding attitude toward their education and communities.
These students are recognised with an award at each school's respective end of year ceremonies.
They are then all interviewed by a Moolarben representative and the overall winners - a junior and a senior - are then selected.
Senior Award winner, Madeleine Sharp from St Matthew's Catholic School, said she was "absolutely gobsmacked" when her name was read out on the evening.
While Junior Award winner, Sigrid Hogden from Dunedoo Central School, also said "wasn't expecting it, but I'm very grateful".
The awards are a part of Moolarben's ongoing partnership with local schools.
