It was a CSU Bathurst kind of day as the visitors fought against what seemed to be a tug-o-war with the Mudgee Wombats to secure a 35-19 win.

The fact CSU are yet to completely gel played into the Wombats' hands as Brian O'Reilly, who was playing his 150th match with the Wombats, placed down the first try of the game 14 minutes after kick off.
24 minutes later and it was Bathurst's fierce number 13, Regan Hughes who dove for his first try of the afternoon with a successful conversion by Jack Keppel, sealing half time with a 7-all scoreboard.
Despite the tries made by Batties' James Ford and Alex Saint in the second half, it was the yellow and black's who came out firing with Marcus Burrell, Aden MacDougall and Regan Hughes who controlled the 35-19 outcome.
"It was good to see because we always get a bunch of new boys in so it's good to come out with a win," Hughes said.
It's just really hard for us because we get a new bunch of players but we're really just trying to gel at the moment, it might take a couple of rounds but we will get there.
- Regan Hughes
Regan scored the most tries of the match, too, having placed down three.
"I think I got three [tries] last time we played Mudgee. It's a good habit, I quite like it," he laughed.
As for O'Reilly, he was surprised at how fast 150 games came around, and mentions there's a few things the Wombats will work on heading into the next rounds.
"It [150 games] was a bit of a surprise actually, I didn't expect it, it came around so quick," he said.
Our front row really killed it in the scrums today. The scrums is one thing that dominate this year so we'll keep working on that and go from there.
- Brian O'Reilly
"Fitness will come as the season goes so we will be better of."
