A 30-year-old man faced Mudgee Local Court last week charged with multiple offences against police during an incident that began with him goading officers - who he called "dogs" and barked at.

Joshua Edward Watts of White Street, was fined $550 and sentenced to a two-year Community Corrections Order, for charges of using offensive language in public, two counts of assault police, and two of resisting arrest.
At about 2am on Saturday, March 23, 2019, officers were patrolling the Mudgee CBD in an unmarked police vehicle as Watts walked along the footpath.
He stared at the car before extending his middle finger and yelling "f***ing dog c***s" at them repeatedly.
When the officers approached Watts over his language, he continued his tirade and began barking like a dog.
As they arrested him he pushed and struggled with them, his behaviour continued at the police station when he refused to exit the caged vehicle.
Watts also faced a mid-range drink driving charge, for which he was fined $850 and disqualified for three months to be followed by a 12-month interlock period.
At about 1.40am on Monday, January 28, 2019, police observed his vehicle travelling at over 50km/h in Denison Street, Mudgee.
When questioned about speeding Watts claimed he was doing the limit and asked "have you got a radar?".
He tested positive to a roadside breath test and was taken to Mudgee Police Station where a breath analysis of 0.128 was recorded.
After receiving the reading he requested that a blood sample be taken, police attempted to facilitate this but the hospital staff required were unavailable at that time of night.
They told Watts that he could contact a doctor of his choice, but he declined. Officers noted that he was argumentative throughout the entire interaction.
