Cassandra Beh moved to Mudgee from Wagga and says she was driven from a young age to become a police officer.

"Having family in the police force, I've always seen them as positive role models and I think that was a real driving force for me to become an officer," she said.

"I did degrees at Charles Sturt University and worked in hospitality as well."

Despite her ambitions, Cassandra's path to policing started very differently.

Cassandra also studied animal and science related degrees. "It was a bit of a turn," she said.

Mitchell Watson hails from Taree and is excited to be in Mudgee.

Orana Mid-Western Police District acting Superintendent Keith Ridley said it was great to see young officers start their policing journey in the local command.

"It's great to have extra police on the street who we can deploy to assist in the reduction of crime," he said.

"They will help make the streets safer in Dubbo and Mudgee.

Orana Mid-Western Police District education development officer Sergeant Justin Falkiner will work closely with constables to ensure their professional development is on track and benchmarks are achieved.

He said the constables will benefit from being exposed to "a lot of different policing duties" in Dubbo and Mudgee.

"It helps us meet our commitment to the community if we can put more boots on the ground," he said.
