I said at the time, that while we don't have a constitution in the United States that protects free speech, we all understand that we live in a country where we can speak freely. Except, what's important to remember, is that it isn't at any cost.
You can say what you like, but no one has to listen to it, no one has to accept it and if you're speaking on a platform managed by someone else, whether that be social media, your job or otherwise, they don't have to host your opinion.
I think you know where this is going. Old Israel, what a mess. With his GoFundMe page being closed down for violation of the organisation's terms of service, it seems like old mate isn't great at reading the fine print.
Every religion has elements in it that aren't compatible with contemporary thinking. The Bible is no different, it's a bit rich that people are out there defending Folau - considering he picked the parts of the Bible he wanted to and ignored the rest.
What of those other 'violent religions' that everyone is supposed to be afraid of, or do you get to cherry-pick those too?
I think we're overdue to start putting forward more Australian female athletes forward as the role models we look up to.
22-year-old Hannah Green from Perth just took out the Women's PGA in her first major title, surfer Sally Fitzgibbons is now ranked number one in the world and of course, Indigenous athlete Ash Barty has claimed the top spot in tennis after years of hard work - all free of controversy.
It is so refreshing to see some top-level Australian athletes that aren't total duds.
Toddler tantrums from Tomic and Kyrgios and accusations of physical and sexual violence against male athletes in other codes that will remain nameless, clog up the country's collective conscious and take attention away from those out there that simply let their hard work speak for itself.
The absurdity of the Folau saga is that he thinks he's the one under attack as if he's free to share hateful rhetoric against people consequence-free.
It's also worth mentioning that if he's right and access to heaven is gated behind abstaining from certain behaviours like 'adultery, fornication, atheists, homosexuals, liars and drunks' - he's going to have no one to play footy with up there.
