The Mudgee community experienced a unique insight into the opportunities TAFE offers, at a special community networking dinner.
"It was a great evening with 30 industry and community stakeholders attending the event to learn about the future of TAFE and how we remain committed to training our local community," TAFE NSW services manager, Matt Felvus, said.
"It was beneficial to engage in proactive talks with MWRC general manager, Brad Cam, along with many industry representatives, about their training needs and how TAFE can continue to deliver positive outcomes for them and the community.
"It was a good opportunity to speak with representatives and employers from the construction industry and gain feedback from them about the introduction of the Certificate III in Construction this semester."
He added that a highlight was the student involvement.
"The students that cooked and served the canapes and a two-course meal at the event did an outstanding job showcasing the hands-on skills that they are learning from experienced industry professionals," he said.
"The feedback from guests was really encouraging for the students and it was a great opportunity for the them to practice their skills in an industry setting to ensure they are job ready."
TAFE NSW Mudgee has a number of courses available for enrolment in semester two, including a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, a Certificate II in Business and a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing).
