The application uses a smart phone's GPS functionality to help a Triple Zero (000) caller by displaying the exact longitude and latitude of your location which you then pass on to the operator.
Which can result in a quicker response by emergency services.
The signs will be installed at rest stops at; Mudgee, Percy Nott and Lue Road; Windamere Dam; Ilford; Kandos; and Rylstone.

The motion was brought by Cr Paul Cavalier.
"I was recently in attendance at a local Emergency Management Committee meeting and there was a discussion about the Emergency + app," he said.
"The idea behind this notice of motion is just to raise awareness around this app throughout the region and looking at the anticipated cost of $1200, I think that it's quite affordable for the Council."
The total cost is expected to be covered within Council's existing road maintenance budgets.
The app was developed by Australia's emergency services and their Government and industry partners, and can be downloaded for free at emergencyapp.triplezero.gov.au/ and following the prompts.
