Elizabeth Jane Riley, aged 43, of Fifth Avenue, Narromine, was charged with 'Larceny value less than/equal to $2000'.
At about 3.48pm on Tuesday, May 5, 2019, she was seen on a local sport store's CCTV footage taking the pair of socks, using a cooler bag that she was carrying at the time.
Even though this was the only theft Riley herself was charged with, she was part of a group of four people shoplifting throughout the Mudgee CBD that afternoon.
The total value of the items they took was around $3000.
With those circumstances - and the defendant's criminal record history - taken into account, Magistrate David Day issued a warrant for her arrest.
"I know it's $25 worth of goods, but she's got a bad record," he said.
