Thank you for publishing the other side of the story re: the solar panels proposal. I completely agree with Mr Cox on a number of the points he makes:
- It is not prime agricultural land (based on his findings). He would know as he has done the tests and knows the land.
- The soil moisture and grass growth under the panels is likely to improve due to the shade.
- The visual image of the panels is far better than Bunnings or any of the industrial sites on the Sydney Road. I recently saw some solar panels near Gulgong and mistook them for a lake. This shows how aesthetically pleasing they are.
- We have a responsibility to take direct action on climate change and this involves change.
- We need to move forward and embrace renewable sources instead of relying on fossil fuels.
Why are locals complaining about the visuals of solar panels when there are 3 great big UGLY mine sites near Mudgee that resemble a moonscape?
