Julie Watt, Market Manager of Mudgee Fine Foods said the feedback they received from stallholders and market goers was overwhelmingly positive.

"The weather was perfect, it was an amazing day," Julie said.

"Having the music wafting over the crowds, just elevating the music like that was fantastic. We had so many comments from people saying they really enjoyed the music and weren't used to hearing it when they're at the markets."

"Who would have thought, music in a bandstand (laughs)."

The stallholders were equally impressed with the new location and change of layout.

"They [the stallholders] were just ecstatic, almost every one of them sold out of their stock and produce by 11 o'clock," Julie said.

"The gentleman cooking a barbecue had to leave and replenish his bread rolls twice,"

With about the same amount of stallholders as usual, there was plenty of space to move around and Julie says when the Makers' Markets come around in October, even then, there is still plenty of room in Robertson Park to expand west towards Douro Street.

"The Markers' Markets will add about 25 additional stalls on top of what we have normally, the great thing is we have room to expand west. We'd never encroach on the memorial space, that's sacrosanct."

Julie said she and everyone else was thankful it all worked out so well.

"Everything worked, the electricity was finished in time. It isn't often that things go so smoothly and in such a compressed time,"

"Everyone pulled together and it was really a positive atmosphere. It's given everyone a renewed vigour and a sense of ownership."
