The monthly event is held at the Mudgee Railway Station and has a mobile coffee service and a barbecue run by the Mudgee and Districts Sub-Branch of Vietnam Veterans Peacekeepers and Peacemakers Association of Australia (VVPPAA), the proceeds of which go towards their work.
David Maurice said he'd seen the idea elsewhere and liked the way it brought together a variety of vehicles and gave owners a relaxed setting to talk about their respective pride-and-joy.
"I went to one in another town and I came back to the Cudgegong Valley Pioneer Vehicle Car Club and asked 'why don't we try it here?' he said.
"It's a no-obligation thing, no prizes, and the time guidelines are 8.30am to 12pm - but we say that if you're in a conversation then, by all means, stay longer.
"It's designed to incorporate people with cars of interest. We had 34 cars on Sunday, which ranged from modern to the 1930s.
"One fellow might have a Holden Commodore with a blower and 20-inch wheels wanting to show it - bring it along. The next guy might have a 1929 Chevrolet with wooden spoke wheels - bring that along too.
"It's getting people together to talk about their cars, show them if they're proud of them, have a look at each others', and discuss.
"Stay as long as you like, or as briefly as you like."
Sunday incorporated a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Mini Minor and welcomed all models from 1959 up until today's generation. Nine Minis were there on the day, even coming from as far away as Wellington.
Local Highway Patrol officers also participated on the day, bringing along one of their new vehicles to check out.
"They were very good answering questions about road/traffic laws and brought one of their new BMW Highway Patrol cars along, which was extremely well received and generated a lot of interest and questions," Mr Maurice added.
- The next Cars N Coffee is on Sunday, August 18.
