Celebrating the 10th anniversary, Black Dog Riders from all across the nation fired up their motorbikes and set forth on spreading awareness of mental health and suicide prevention.

Assistant coordinator of the event, Jon Benham said due to the anniversary, the ride made an important stop in to Mudgee during their trip around Australia, and adds there is a reason why the town was on the map.
"It's really important to stop in regional and remote towns to start conversations," he said.
In regional towns, the statistics of mental health and suicide are disproportionately higher.

"We also say 'nobody starts a conversation more than when 30 to 100 bikes roll into town'. It creates a scene and everyone wants to talk to us. The motorbikes are an icebreaker."
The stop was the last one before the riders head on to Tamworth to continue spreading awareness and knowledge.
"We're having a great time, all of the participants come with many different motivations," Benham said.
We really come with a wealth of personal knowledge and I think that's what makes this ride a success.
