The Cudgegong Choir have been asked to perform at St Columba of Iona in Cassilis, a small show which is key for the church.

It will be a 'festival service', halfway between a concert and a service. However, choir director Mary Mitchell said they were asked because in order to keep the church open in the small community it needs to be used.

And with enough members volunteering to go, they're only too happy to make the trip.
"It's something a little bit different for us, but the choir is always enthusiastic and willing," she said. "We'll be doing some of our favourites that we know well. They won't all be hymns, but we will be singing things that fit in with a festival service."
- 2pm Sunday, August 18, St Columba of Iona, followed by afternoon tea at the Cassilis Bowling Club.
