Each installment is a mammoth event and on Thursday, September 5, the Mudgee Showground will host 720 students from 15 schools, 44 staff, and 21 volunteer presenters.
Like last year, Watershed Landcare will host an evening with the keynote speaker to give the wider community the opportunity to learn as well.
'Birds in the Bar with Sean Dooley', will be held on the Wednesday night at Roth's Wine Bar.
"It's an event for the community, not just the schools, it's open to the general public," Michele McFarlane, Green Day coordinator, said.
"And Sean will be talking about his adventures in the bird world and a little bit about himself - he's actually got a really interesting background."
The "Birdman" was the national birdwatching champion, held the record for the most birds seen in one year - documented in his 2005 book The Big Twitch - and has also written for television comedies including Full Frontal and Spicks and Specks.
He's currently the editor of Australian Birdlife and the magazine will be holding one of the workshops on Green Day itself.
Alongside the likes of; the Royal Botanical Gardens; National Parks and Wildlife Service; Department of Primary Industries and Environment (formerly Office of Environment and Heritage); as well as local businesses and individuals.
Once again Sculptures in the Garden have partnered with the event and will run a workshop where all students will have a hand in making pieces from reclaimed wood, which are set to go on display at SIG for Kids on the weekend of October 12-13.
- Tickets for the evening with Sean Dooley (Wednesday, September 4) are $30 plus booking fee, and include a grazing table on arrival and Roth's wood fired pizzas later in the evening, they're available at trybooking.com/BEUFF
