Delivered by Bicycling Australia, the Mudgee Classic will offer three courses, The Maxi Classic - a 170 kilometre ride, The Challenge Classic - a 110 kilometre race and The Social Classic - a 35 kilometre ride.
Event founder, James Yaffa says Mudgee was an obvious destination for the event that has been inspired on the back of ongoing success of the Bowral Classic, Noosa Classic and Clare Classic, all of which are in their second year and above.
"Mudgee is a bustling region that meets our criteria in selecting new destinations for our Gran Fondo Cycling events," he said.
With an abundance of things to do for visitors who will be coming from all over Australia and overseas, choosing Mudgee was a no brainer.

While competitors usually sit in the 40 to 65 demographic, Yaffa says the event is 'most certainly' a family activity.
"The event will attract competitive riders, however the majority of participants will attend with partners and their family," he said.
Cycling is a wonderful community and we like to have fun.
The second NSW-based cycling event for Bicycling Australia will start in Church Street at 7am, with riders finishing up at Lawson Park.
Before its first appearance, Yaffa has confirmed the Mudgee Classic will be an annual event.
Yes we have every intention to be here for the long term.
The Mudgee Classic will be held on May 3, 2020 with tickets on sale from October 1 at mudgeeclassic.com.au.
"I personally thank Destination NSW, Mid-Western Council and the support of our commercial partners and the amazing Mudgee community," Yaffa said.
