Scott Michael Martin of Denison Street, Mudgee, failed to appear in local court on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, to face the matter.
Police spotted the 44-year-old while patrolling Market Street, Mudgee, at about 11pm on Thursday, June 13, 2019. He was skateboarding in the middle of the road heading towards Bell Street and out of safety concerns - due to the foggy conditions - they stopped him.
Martin said that he was going to visit a friend, but didn't elaborate. Officers noted that he appeared to be under the influence and he did admit to drinking.
He then confessed to them, "I'm going to be honest with you, I have a knife in my pocket and I don't want you to to take it from me - it's a special knife". Before presenting the gold-coloured weapon and placing it on the ground.
Police asked him why he had it with him, to which he answered "I used it to cut up an apple" - again failing to elaborate.
