Coats and jumpers were quickly removed as the dancing tempo increased.
The Mudgee Police Officers were a 'stand out', with style and precision but a few break dancers stole the lime light.
Mandy Kane has been running a line dancing group at school as part of our Enrichment and Extension program.
She has been dancing to the 'Git Up' dance. Mrs Kane has connections with the emergency services and coordinated the event.
BOOK WEEK was held the previous week and its theme was 'reading is my superpower' and 'I am a reading superhero'. We decided it would be a fabulous opportunity to invite our local community 'heroes' to participate in our dance.
The whole school participated from grades K-6, along with Graham McCouat from Ambulance, Jodie Honeysett from Fire and Senior Constables from Mudgee LAC.
The students loved dancing with our 'heroes' and enjoyed looking at the trucks and cars afterwards. It was a fabulous opportunity for our students to get to socialise with people (who at times can be scary) in an informal and fun setting.
Thanks to Mrs Kane who organised the event and to the emergency services members who gave up their time and stayed after the dance to chat to the children.
It was a fabulous day and an amazing opportunity to celebrate our local community.
