From Monday to Friday during this year's Legacy Week (September 1-7), the organisation lent a hand by selling badges and raffle tickets at Bunnings. Which was much appreciated by Legacy - because with their volunteers already looking after locations in the Mudgee CBD, they weren't able to cover the store.
"Lifeskills Plus is very excited to help and we're always looking for ways to give back to the community," keyworker, Hayley Gray, said. "And we're looking forward to continuing to work with Legacy again in the future."
To say 'thanks', clients and staff were invited to Legacy's monthly lunch group and widows meeting on Monday and presented with certificates of appreciation.
Funds raised during Legacy Week are used to continue the 96-year-old tradition of caring for Australian widows, families and children of soldiers who have lost their lives or health during or following service in all conflicts, from WWI to present.
