All teams in the semi-finals were down on numbers, only 36s able to field five players, consequently results from the round games no help in picking a likely winner on Sunday.
Mudgee Travel and Cruise Hawks led at each quarter to defeat Kings 59-23.
Kings struggled throughout to contain Cooper Van Bruchem, who scored 37 for Hawks and Bailey Consadine with 20.
For Kings, Lachlan Hemingway hit 12 points, Kurt Cunningham 9, Ethan Burgoyne 2.
The 36s and Bullets game, won by Bullets 42-34, in contrast was a close match, the scores equal at various times during the game.
Midway through the last quarter, the four players from Bullets finally put a ten point gap in the score and victory appeared to be within their grasp.
36s were not yet done and applied considerable pressure in defence to force turnovers in a bid to gain possession to score the vital points and force the game into extra time.
Bullets though, despite the desperate effort from 36s, were able to hold onto their lead and book a place in the season finale against Hawks.
The division one grand final between Wildcats and Taipans, who finished first and second on the ladder is likely to be a stellar affair.
During the regular season, Taipans defeated Wildcats 40-30 back in round one, while it was a no result in the second clash with Taipans forfeiting to their rivals.
Wildcats, with Seth Codrington leading the way and with competent back up from Will Daniell, Mack Codrington, Jack Boal and Tom Sutherland appear to have the edge on their opponents.
Their demolition of Kings 69-20 in the qualifying semi-final seems to confirm their favourite status.
Taipans on the other hand have Matt Dayrit, whose height is likely to dominate the boards at both ends, giving Toby Scoular, Fraser Burke and Connor McLean numerous opportunities to score.
Wildcats will also have to restrict Dayrit's scoring chances, his 32 points in the Bullets 51-28 defeat of 36s in the qualifying semi-final indicating the mammoth task facing the Wildcats defence.
Boomers take on Flames in the girls grand final at 12.45, overtime on the cards, so evenly matched are the teams.
In the two clashes during the season between the teams, Boomers were too strong in game one, 58-38, Flames returning the favour winning 31-29 in the second encounter.
Alanna Drent, Shauna and Maddy Rawlinson along with Phoebe Virgona are likely to feature heavily in a Flames victory, while Maree Ioane, Venice Martillana, Amy Ioane and Georgia Bowland hold the key to Boomers taking the title.
The Junior basketball grand finals will be played on Sunday at the PCYC.
