The proposed Mudgee 'Festival of Snags' has been shortlisted, you've seen it on the Today Show, now it's time to vote to make it happen.
Daniel Finch, managing director of Wotif, said it's important that residents vote for the event, which will showcase the best local produce.
"If there's anywhere that could hold a Festival of Snags, Mudgee is it," he said.
"It's a beautiful town filled with passionate people and most importantly some stunning local produce including award-winning sausages.
"To make the Festival of Snags a reality, the people of Mudgee, the Central West and lovers of sausages nationally need to jump online to wotif.com/festival by September 29, to vote in the inaugural Festival of Wot? competition.
"There's some stiff competition, so better get a sizzle on."
Des Kennedy, Mid-Western Regional Council Mayor, added that the opportunity to be provided an event such as this would be too good to pass up.
"Wotif is gifting a town with a festival and Mudgee is the only NSW town in the running," he said.
"We've been nominated to host the Festival of Snags, a concept that marries perfectly with our region as having some of the best beef cattle producers and butchers in the country.
"This is a wonderful opportunity. Wotif will co-ordinate the event and work with local suppliers ensuring all the economic benefit is felt locally.
"The festival couldn't come at a better time to boost community morale as the ongoing drought prevails. If you haven't done so already, get in and lodge your vote for Mudgee to win the Festival of Snags and make this event a reality in our region."
