"We are a group of locals from different backgrounds who work mainly with our Mudgee Health Service to advocate for the community and its health needs," chair John Bentley said. "We also consult with and support community groups to promote our Mudgee Health Service."
Caren Harrison, Health Service Manager, "as everyone knows the building of our new hospital is well underway and our Mudgee Health Council is engaged in that process. A community voice has been essential contributing to the decisions being made for our new building, and I am pleased Health Council participants so readily."
John added, "people apply to join Mudgee Health Council for a range of reasons".
"I originally applied to learn more about what our hospital and community heatlh services provided to Mudgee," he said. "But all members have the opportunity to be involved in so much more. We meet monthly at the hospital and it is a great opportunity to work with a fine group of people, including senior health staff."
Applications are open until October 10. Membership information packages are available from Mudgee Health Service (contact Sue Jakins - 6378 6311) and further info from John Bentley (0411 237 574).
