The addition of the playground completes the Gulgong recreational precinct, adding to the Gulgong Pool, Billy Dunn oval and the new Gulgong Skate Park.
The project funded by the Council and the NSW Government as part of the Clubgrants Infrastructure Grants Program, designed as a result of community consultation, which saw the call for interactive equipment.
"The facilities in this recreational precinct will appeal to families with children of all ages, parents can take their kids to the pool and a barbecue at the Adventure Playground while offer children can enjoy the nearby skate park," Cr Kennedy said.
"The community called for a playground with interactive play equipment and Council has delivered on that with wheelchair accessible equipment, flying fox, shelters, picnic tables and the barbecue.
"This playground has already been well-used in the two months it's been operational and will be enjoyed by the Region's small children and parents for many to come.
"I thank the NSW Government for supporting Council to deliver this project to the Region."
Mr Saunders said the playground will add to the lifestyle of children, providing an opportunity to be active.
We have seen in other locations that these adventure playgrounds provide a great environment for children to get out and play, and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
