
MOTORISTS heading across the Blue Mountains on Monday have been warned to allow extra travel time due to an eight kilometre long queue of vehicles.
The alert by Live Traffic was issued at 2.20pm for motorists travelling east on the Great Western Highway in areas around Blackheath.

"Heavy traffic is expected over the weekend, motorists are advised to allow around 35 minutes extra travel time," the alert stated.

Motorists have been urged to plan their trip and find out where the expected peak times of travel will be by visiting the Roads and Maritime Services online.
Meanwhile, double demerit points remain in force speeding, mobile phone, seatbelt and motorcycle helmet offences until 11.59pm on Monday.
