You might not have received one of these before. But I thought a lazy Friday afternoon would be the perfect time to send one.
Looking outside my window right now, the clouds are dark, the thunder is rumbling and hopefully I'll soon hear the sound of rain on the roof.
Today the Mudgee Guardian building was sold. You've no doubt heard that it was for sale - or maybe even heard some of the rumours that it meant something like we were closing down! - Which is absurd and untrue. All it means is we're moving to a new home in the Mudgee CBD pretty soon. Something I'm excited for.
The winning bid was for $950,000 - no small sum - and the new owners have told me they would prefer to remain anonymous. So we will all have to wait to see what they have in store for the building we've called home since 1890.
Sculptures in the Garden is on this weekend too. It's pretty great to see the region so packed full of events all year round - even if it means the traffic can become a bit of a nightmare. We will of course be there to admire the amazing art along with the rest of you. If you see our photographer Simone Kurtz there, be sure to say hello and get your photo taken...you might even end up in print.
What else do you have planned for the weekend? I'd love to hear about it, maybe you have a great tip for somewhere to check out?
You can always drop me a line at my work email address: ben.palmer@mudgeeguardian.com.au or head over to Facebook and search for Ben Palmer Editor for my super-fancy professional page and zing me a message there.
Have a good one.
Until next week, may all your news be good - and thanks for being a subscriber.
