Comprising of four phases, riders and their horses will be put to the ultimate test, facing phases of dressage, maneability, speed and cattle team penning.
With 50 riders expected to compete across the two day event, MADWEQ publicity officer Megan Tanti says there's a lot to factor in if one is to aim for the crown.
To win, it takes a strong partnership between the horse and rider, sometimes this involves years of training together.

"Many competitors are always striving for self improvement too, so when riding in a higher grade, they are more than satisfied if they do better than their last ride."
Tanti says there will be no shortage of local talent on show with the likes of Sue Geering, Bean Baillieu, Andrew Mulligan, Melissa McGilvray, Sam Peninton, Jane Thompson, Natasha Kelaher and Poopy Douglas expected to make an appearance.
"Our local riders could be expected to achieve good results, although competition will be strong from visiting riders," Tanti said.
The event will showcase riders from the introductory level up to masters.
"The atmosphere will be friendly and encouraging. While it is a competition, everybody is more than helpful and member's progress and improvements are always recognised by fellow members," Megan said.
There's no age limit. At our championship, there will be riders as young as eight and people in their 70's.
The MADWEQ October competition will be held on October 26 and 27 at the Gulgong Showground.
