Chris Pearson, chairperson of the GHM thanked Peabody for their generous support saying "We have just finished a delightful new facility and this donation will be a very positive legacy for the future provision of clean energy and lower electricity costs".
"These annual savings will be enhanced in two to three years when we expand the system to battery backup".
Peabody / Wilpinjongs, James Heesterman on inspecting the near finished GHM said "This museum is more than equal to anything I have seen on my recent trip to New Zealnd, Canada and USA. It is a great credit to all involved and the dedicated five years it took to build, Gulgong certainly bats well above it's weight, well done".

OUR FIRIES DOING IT FOR MOTOR NEURONE DISEASE
Time is drawing near for this year's stair climb for Motor Neurone Disease which is taking place at Sydney's Centrepoint Tower on November 9. Our Gulgong Firies will join firies from all over Australia to climb the 1500 stairs of the tower in an effort to raise funds for Motor Neuron Disease. The firies have already raised $2M for the cause and are looking at making it $3M this year.
You can support our guys and the cause by purchasing a ticket in the raffle they have going at the moment. The prize is a CAN-AM Defender HD-8Pro valued at $25,000. GULGONG HOLTERMANN MUSEUM OPENING
Excitement is building in Gulgong with the pending opening of the Holtermann Museum on Saturday, October 26.
The committee and volunteers have been working hard on the venue for the past four years and after all the hours they have put in, the product of their work will be opened that day for the benefit of all.
The Mayne Street will be closed for the official opening which will take place at 3pm. Entry to the museum on that day will be for dignitaries only but will be open to the public on Sunday, October 27 at 10am.
Prior to the Holtermann Opening the Gulgong markets will take place from 8am to 1pm so an exciting day is guaranteed.
GULGONG MPS OPEN DAY
Gulgong MPS will hold an Open Day on November 2 from 1am to 2pm. The Open Day will be sponsored by the Gulgong Health Council, NSW Health Western, Gulgong Hospital Auxiliary and Peabody Energy.
Come along and see for yourselves what a wonderful facility we have in our town. Tours will be conducted throughout the day as well as a BBQ lunch for all. Stay around you might win one of the lucky door prizes.
GULGONG SWAP MEET
This year's annual Swap Meet is shaping up to be the largest with over 300 sites expected. You will find anything from bric-a-brac, homewares, antiques to potted plants.
On the day there will also be a car, bike and truck show with stationary engines running all day.
The day starts at 6am on Sunday, November 10 at the Gulgong Showground. Setup on that day or at 9am Saturday 9th November.
