Jack Edmund Sweeney Moran, aged 31, of Port Hacking Road, Caringbah South, pleaded guilty to the charge 'Self administer/attempt self administer prohibited drug'.

At about 9pm on Saturday, August 10, 2019, police were called to the establishment over five people using the drug in the poker machine area.

They arrived and spoke to Moran, who told the officers, "we snorted it all, there's nothing left, had you got here 15 minutes earlier it would've been a different story".

The incident was captured on CCTV.

Moran - who represented himself in court - confirmed to Magistrate David Day that he is employed, to which his honour commented, "you'd have to be to afford cocaine...you must be the prince of plumbers".

Before reflecting on the bloodshed that results from the transportation of the drug from where it's mostly manufactured in South America.

"Cocaine is smuggled mainly through northern Mexico by cartels, where it causes a lot of violence," Magistrate Day said.

"So then importing it into Australia is socially irresponsible, but that only happens because people like you snort it."

Earlier this week, drug cartel gunmen ambushed and killed three women and six children in Mexico, in an attack that left one of the vehicles a burned-out, bullet-riddled hulk. The victims - all citizens of the United States - had set out to visit relatives in Mexico, while one woman was headed to the airport in Phoenix to meet her husband.
