Over one thousand runners are expected to take part in the Suck It Up Buttercup Vikings course, and after a visit from race director Peter Manning, slots are filling up fast.
"I've done a few rounds and I've been informed there are a few teams that have been organised, there's one team who have 30 people in already," Manning said.
We're hoping for around one thousand participants, not just from Mudgee but from Sydney and Newcastle too.

"We've found that in the past, people were prepared to travel up to three and a half hours and make a weekend out of it, and Mudgee is central so it just works.
"It's best for people to get registered now because the waves fill up fast."
While this is the first event of its kind to make a stop in Mudgee with Tamworth hosting for the past fours years along with Port Macquarie for three, Manning says it was about time the viking themed course made its way to the Central West.
"It's time for a move inland. We're really excited about coming to Bunnamagoo Estate," he said.
"Our event is all about fun and having a good time, and just basically sucking it up and getting on with it."
The course welcomes all fitness levels with the option to do it at your own individual pace, but for the competitive runners, there is a chance to win something out of the ordinary.
"You can walk it or run it, it's really for everyone from beginners to elites," Manning said.
"For the ladies in the elite wave who do the 16km course with 60 plus obstacles, they can win their weight, subject to conditions, in wine from Bunnamagoo Estate and the guys will win four cartons of craft beer from Mudgee Brewing Co."
Before the Saturday event, primary and secondary students will get their shot at the course full of obstacles and giant inflatables with a trophy and bragging rights on offer.
"So far we've got 20 schools registered within a three our radius of Mudgee, we should have about 800 primary and secondary school kids doing the Mini Muddies challenge," Peter said.
Back when we started, there wasn't much for kids to do in this type of event so we came up with the idea of Mini Muddies to get kids outside and active and back to the old days of rolling around in the mud.
"They get to trash the course for the adults the day before.
"There are teams of six for schools that want to have a go at it. The first team of six across the line together gets to take home the Mini Muddies trophy and more importantly, bragging rights for a year.
"The pressures on, come on Mudgee!"
The main event will be held on March 14, 2020 from 8.30am to 2pm at Bunnamagoo Estate, while the Mini Muddies will be held on March 13, 2020 from 11am to 2pm
