A stargazing moment on a 'life changing' trip to New Zealand led to the creation of one of the most scenic getaways the Mudgee region has ever played host to.

Tucked away deep in the Capertee Valley is where Bubbletent Australia calls home, and while the precise location is kept a secret, the destination is nothing short of perfect.
Bubbletent Australia was founded by a Sydney Eastern Suburbs pair, Sonny Vrebac and Mayu Iwasaki.
Co-founder, Sonny Vrebac says the moment the location was found is when the idea began to come to life.
When we found Capertee Valley, it became the obvious place it needed to be.

"I asked 65 different people if they have heard of Capertee Valley and only four said they had, two of them turned out to be liars.
"The more I discover about Australia, the more you find out about places like this."
After the trip to New Zealand, the pair made it their mission to attempt to offer the same experience to others that they had the pleasure of witnessing.
And while, the project was initially meant to be a hobby, a little research revealed that no longer would be the case.
"To cut a long story short, we went on the stargazing tour and it couldn't have been timed more perfectly. It was a completely clear night, no clouds at all, no wind, and to top it off, there was a meteor shower that night," Sonny said.
It was life changing because we were just absolutely spellbound by the whole experience.
"When we came back to Australia we wanted to replicate that experience and we couldn't find anything quite like what we had imagined.
"Initially we wanted to do it as a hobby but once we started doing our research, we realised how much goes into building and maintaining these things.
"We just decided to pull the trigger and luckily there are a lot of people who share the same fascination with the stars we have."
Due to the heavy star theme, the tents were named after three star constellations - Virgo, Leo and Cancer - each hosting their own slice of heaven.
"Each tent has a particular feature. Virgo has the floating loveseat, Cancer has a floating daybed, and Leo has two different hammock spots," Vrebac said.
"Virgo and Leo also have the swedish woodfire bath tubs, and Virgo also has ducted air-con too.
"They all have different views. I think we offer variety.
We get some people who say we have the best spot to take a bath in the world, it's a tall claim but we'll take it.
Being located far away from any cities has its perks, especially for those with a keen eye for photography or just appreciate a night free of city lights.
"It's hard not to be a part of nature and put your problems into context. It really allows you to just reconnect to yourself, significant other and just life," Sonny said.
"There are no two days alike here, it is really incredible. There are so many things nature makes happen, it's hard not to be impacted by it.
"I've seen days where we've had fog just roll through and it literally just falls into the valley, it looks like a waterfall.
"It is really something else."
