Man stole firewood from back of victim's property
A 46-year-old man who trespassed onto a rural property and stole firewood, was fined a total of $220.
At about midday on Thursday, August 22, 2019, Troy Anthony Scoular of Slaughter Yards Road, Gulgong, was seen by the victim at the back their Cope Road property cutting firewood with a chainsaw and filling the back of his ute.
He didn't notice the victim, who didn't didn't approach him.
Four days later, at around 2.30pm, Scoular returned and was doing the same at a far end of the property.
This time the victim - accompanied by a family member - approached and asked him what he was what he was doing and whose permission he had.
Scoular answered "no one's, I don't need anyone's permission". The victim called the police, who spoke to Scoular over the phone.
He removed the firewood from the vehicle and left. In the facts submitted to court, it was noted that there were a number of 'no trespassing' signs on the gate that Scoular would've used.
Disqualified driver also goes high-range
A 37-year-old man was sentenced for high-range drink driving, while he was also disqualified, after he was stopped for random breath testing on the outskirts of town.
Jason Michael Andrew Richards, of Mayne Street, Gulgong, was disqualified for 12 months to be followed by a 48-month interlock period, placed on an 18-month Intensive Correction Order, and ordered to complete 150 hours community service.
He was stopped by police at about 12.10am on Sunday, June 9, 2019, admitted he was disqualified and handed over a Photo ID card.
The roadside breath test was positive for alcohol and he was taken to Gulgong Police Station, where a breath analysis of 0.153 was recorded.
Richards admitted to drinking eight schooners since 5pm that afternoon.
A check of his licence revealed that he was disqualified in Wyong Local Court for five years from September 2017.
'Get away from the bar so I can get a drink'
A Yarrawonga man was fined $550 for a 2018 assault in a Gulgong pub.
Mitchell James Richards of Bywong Lane, Yarrawonga, was charged with the incident that occurred at about 11.30pm on Saturday, May 19, 2018.
While standing at the bar, Richards said to the victim "lay off the steroids mate, get away from the bar so I can get a drink", then pushed him.
The incident was captured on the pub's CCTV footage.
Fine, order for domestic intimidation
A 48-year-old man was fined $990 and placed on a 12-month Community Corrections Order for intimidation during a domestic incident.
Colin Lee Chetcuti of Black Lead Lane, Gulgong, and the victim got into an argument on the afternoon of Tuesday, October, 2019, outside his residence.
While yelling and swearing, he threw a dustpan broom at her.
Chetcuti began hitting the fence with a metal pole - within two metres of the victim - she left the location and neighbours called police.
Unlicensed Queensland man didn't 'leave wallet at home'
A Queensland man charged with driving while suspended in Gulgong - en route to the ACT - was fined $550 and disqualified for three months.
Elwyn Battye of Arbor Road, Glenwood, wasn't before court but submitted a written plea of guilty.
The 47-year-old was stopped in Medley Street, Gulgong, for random breath and drug testing at about 11.05pm on Sunday, July 21, 2019.
He told police that he couldn't hand over his licence because he left his wallet at home.
However, they found this suspicious because he was driving from Queensland to the ACT at the time.
Battye admitted that he was suspended for "DUI", which was confirmed by further checks by police.
Drug possession charges from Mendooran RBT
A woman was convicted for two counts of drug possession, charges rising from when the vehicle she was a passenger in was stopped by police in the Mendooran CBD on a Saturday night.
Officers were patrolling the area at about 11.55pm on September 7, 2019, when they stopped the vehicle for random breath testing.
Jade Veronica Anderson, aged 25, of Ancrum Street, Cassilis, was known to police and when she was questioned about drugs she handed over a Tupperware container holding 5.3g of cannabis leaf.
The vehicle was searched and 0.10g of methamphetamine was found.
