Most of the girls you see in the photo above had never played tackle football not that long ago. Now they're champions after the Mudgee Dragons' Under 13s side came away with a 20-14 win against Orange Vipers at Eugowra.

The team of girls put points on the board early in the piece and never took the pressure off. Proving to the crowd that they were there to win it.
Club President, Guy Pascoe said the win was a huge achievement.
"It's an amazing feeling to witness a side take out their maiden premiership in their first year of competition, it's just such a huge achievement," Guy said.
"There's such a positive vibe within the club at the moment and the enthusiasm of this young team has been a major contributor to that."
Megan Bodiam who coaches the team along with son Jett, said it was clear to see why the girls earned their win. Commitment.
"That was our biggest positive. We had 19 players and most weeks you had 19 players turn up training. The camaraderie between that team is second to none. They all - whether they're friends at school or hang out at school, when they went out on that paddock, they had each other's backs," Megan said.
"Their commitment. Their commitment to their team and to Jett and I was like, that's the hardest thing I think with sport is to have commitment from everybody. Whereas in this team we had it. They loved it,"
"If there were times where we [Megan and Jett] turned up to training five minutes late. Those girls knew exactly what we did at the start of training. We would turn up and they would be out on the paddock doing it. They never had to be told."
"It was noticed by other teams, coaches and by parents. 'Wow look at those girls out there, training, knowing what they've got to do before they get here.'"
In addition to the players, coaches, Club President and everyone that helped. Megan wanted to shine a spotlight on the parents.
"Thanks to all the parents for running their kids around every weekend. Behind kids being successful is a good parent. And they all would always turn up to watch their kids."
Presentation night
The Mudgee Dragons will have their presentation night on Saturday 30 November at the Mudgee Golf Club where they will celebrate the efforts of all those involved within the club this season.
Guy Pascoe says without a doubt the U13's will take centre stage after creating history on Sunday by winning the clubs first ever premiership.
It's shaping up as a big night with over 100 tickets sold.
