The event was to give students an insight into the benefits of knowing their finances well and what it takes to be fiscally responsible.
They also covered the importance of being a reliable and dependable employee, as well as what they would need to do - and look out for - to rent locally.
Guest speakers were three industry experts, Fiona Hutton (Lifeline), Rob Cutrupi (Virgo Security), and Ben Reynolds (McGrath Estate Agents).
A financial help counsellor with Lifeline Central West, Fiona discussed; how to budget and the tools required to do it well; prioritising and being aware of expenses; issues to be aware of when taking out a loan; options and who to speak to if you occur financial difficulty; and the importance of keeping a healthy credit rating.
Local business owner Rob spoke about; expectations of employers; taking pride in your work; representing yourself and your employer well in a small community; and the importance of offering quality service to the customer.
Sales agent Ben discussed; the process of renting and the barriers you may encounter; how the rental market is in Mudgee and the most responsible way to enter; and what rights you have as a tenant.
