The Mudgee branch of the Vietnam Veterans, Peacekeepers and Peacemakers Association (VVPPA) have recieved a boost to help upgrade office equipment and also assist with office administration costs.

The group was the recipient of a $9,053 Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) grant.
Mudgee VVPPA manager Ken Atkinson said that the funding will help the behind-the-scenes operations run more smoothly while they represent about 150 veterans - with the oldest of which is 87-years-old, while the youngest is just 19.
"We advocate on behalf of returning defence force veterans and work to improve their situation once they have exited the services," Mr Atkinson explained.
"This funding will allow us to be more efficient in the office with some new equipment and also provide administration support for the branch, so I can continue to work directly with our veterans across the region."
Federal Member for Calare, Andrew Gee, said that the VVPPA in Mudgee "are a worthy recipient of this grant" for the work they do on behalf of veterans in the local community.
"Ken has spent six years in the role and has been responsible for changing many lives for the better during that time," Mr Gee said.
"Ken and his team work hard on behalf of so many people who have returned from service for their country. There is a real need for the VVPPA services across the region and Ken works tirelessly to represent these brave Australians.
"BEST Grants are an important part of the Australian Government's commitment to supporting ex-service organisations, providing compensation and welfare advocates the support they need to assist veterans and their families seek compensation and other assistance."
