RYLSTONE LOCAL COURT, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2019.
Prison sentence for driver who blew 0.261
A man was jailed for a year with a non-parole period of six months, for high-range drink driving.
Adam Michael Jones of Roxburgh Street, Kandos, was also disqualified for 18 months to be followed by a 48-month interlock period.
At about 8.35pm on Friday, May 3, 2019, police were conducting high-visibility patrols of Kandos and stopped the 36-year-old in Angus Avenue.
The roadside breath test was positive for alcohol and he was taken to Kandos Police Station, where a breath analysis of 0.261 was recorded. He admitted to drinking 700ml of vodka, mixed with lemonade, over the course of the afternoon.
Jones had been charged with a low-range offence in September 2018.
Man leaves argument, damages fence, crashes vehicle
Andrew Joel Russell of Fleming Street, Kandos, was fined a total of $1000 for charges of negligent driving and property damage.
During an argument on Saturday, February 16, 2019, the 24-year-old walked out of a Kandos house and began pulling on the fence, which caused it to bend and damage.
He then got into his vehicle and drove along Roxburgh Street before crashing into the rear of another car at the intersection with Dabee Road.
Two children in the other vehicle were uninjured. Russell told police he was only going 40km/h but his vehicle slid.
Motorbike rider stopped by police under familiar circumstances
Scott Byrnes of Anzac Avenue, Kandos, was fined a total of $800 for riding an unregistered trail-bike without a Class R licence.
At about 6pm on Sunday, April 14, 2019, police were patrolling Lloyd Avenue, Kandos, when they saw the 27-year-old riding on the grass by the side of the road.
Having charged Byrnes earlier in the year, officers stopped him - knowing that he was unlicensed for the class and the bike has been unregistered since 2017.
The incident put him in breach of a Conditional Release Order he'd received in March for a similar offence in Charbon. The CRO was revoked and he was fined $500.
Fine for intoxicated domestic incident
Timothy James Emanuel Wilkinson, of Rodgers Street, Kandos, was fined $770 for a charge of 'Common assault (Domestic)'.
At about 6.30pm on Saturday, October 19, 2019, the 35-year-old got into an argument with a family member he'd been drinking with throughout the day.
Others intervened, including the victim, and Wilkinson turned on her.
He pushed the victim to the ground and sat on her, until she freed herself, ran from the house and called police.
