More than one month since the Mid-Western region ticked over to level 2 water restrictions, Council is sending out the promised flyer in the mail.
Council says that from next week residents of the Mid-Western Region will receive the flyer in the mail advising the permitted activities around Level 2 water restrictions.
Included in the flyer are permitted activities under Level 2 water restrictions, watering times and an explanation of the Odds and Evens Watering System.
Level 3 on the horizon
The reverse of the flyer outlines permitted activities for Level 3 water restrictions.
Council is providing information about Level 3 in preparation for the proposed Bulk Water Transfer that will be undertaken by Water NSW.
The proposed transfer of water between Windamere Dam and Burrendong Dam is a component of the Water NSW drought response strategy for the Macquarie Valley to extend water availability for town supply and critical needs.
Water NSW has advised if zero inflows are received into Burrendong Dam, the next transfer from Windamere would occur in February next year.
Council's General Manager Brad Cam said if the transfer does go ahead this will reduce dam levels which may trigger Council to implement Level 3 water restrictions.
"The amount of available water storage in the dams will determine if Level 3 restrictions are implemented," Mr Cam said.
"Whilst Council is educating residents around Level 2 restrictions, the flyer is a good opportunity to provide further information on what is involved with Level 3 restrictions.
"Residents can stick the flyer to their fridge for easy reference or keep in a handy spot around the home."
Council says the flyer will be delivered to all mailboxes and PO Boxes throughout the region next week. If you do not receive a flyer, please visit one of Council's Customer Service Centres in Mudgee, Rylstone or Gulgong for your copy.
