Mudgee High School's annual presentation ceremony on Thursday recognised and celebrated the various academic, sporting and cultural achievements and activities of their students throughout the year.
In his principal's address, Wayne Eade said that the evening was a "celebration of the optimism of youth" and of award recipients who "give what they do everyday a red-hot go".
"These are troubling times. But while ever we have hopeful young people in our midst and you learn, as they pass through here, a little bit about the achievements they've made throughout the course of this year - you'll understand that this community's future looks quite bright," he said.
"And it all becomes a little bit easier to share some of that optimism when you see so much of it on display."
