Detectives from Orana Mid-Western Police District commenced an investigation on Thursday, December 5, following reports a 14-year-old boy had received sexually inappropriate messages and images from a man through social media.
Following extensive inquiries, investigators arrested a 32-year-old man at a home in the state's Central Tablelands just before 1pm on Tuesday, December 10.
He was taken to a local police station, where he was charged with groom child for unlawful sexual activity.

Police will allege in court that the man, who was one of the boy's teachers, sent him inappropriate messages through a social media application.
The man was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Mudgee Local Court on Wednesday, December 18.
