While Santa's elves might be working hard as Christmas Day inches closer, they're unlikely to be working anywhere near as diligently as what Peter Sterling and Ken Sutcliffe are to be booking in some famous sporting identities for a Mudgee visit.

On January 31, 2020, the ninth installment of the Moolarben Coal Celebrity Golf Classic will take over the Mudgee Golf Course.
While the majority of the attendees are yet to confirm, event founder Peter Mayson says there will be some rather 'big' names making an appearance.
"We've got quite a few big names coming that hopefully we will release early in the new year," he said.
"We want to release them as soon as we get confirmation."
While some celebrities are being kept under wraps until early January, it has been confirmed that former champion jockey Malcolm 'Miracle' Johnson will be making a return as will successful rugby league star Steve Edge, with Royce Simmons, Ray Price, Craig Young and Luke Burgess also attending.
"These are guys that want to come back and play because they love the event, they really enjoy Mudgee," Mayson said.

Australian comedian Lawrence Mooney has been booked in for the entertainment, and while previous Classics have been incredibly successful with fundraising efforts, Mayson says he is hopeful they can pull it off again.
"I certainly do, it's just reached a new level of support with the corporate world, there is a lot of external support to make the event a success every year," he said.
Going by history, I think it would be nice to raise somewhere between $30,000 to $50,000 mark, it'd be a nice thing to do.
