The home side won the toss and elected to bat. Captain Will Lindsay lead the way, top scoring with 37, although it was a shaky start with Tom Lawson (0) and Jack Foran (1) dismissed cheaply.
When Bill Honeysett went for 12, the scoreboard had reached 43. However, Damian Doherty helped steady the ship with his 31 runs and Midwest were closing in on a triple figures when he departed the crease.
The combined 27 from tail saw the locals set 119 for victory, all out inside of 42 overs.
Benjamin Parsons was effective for the visitors, taking 3-14 off nine, with four maidens, who along with Harrison Craig (3-24 off 10) sent many of the Midwest top order back to the pavilion.
While Matthew Fearnley (2-24 off 10, with four maidens) was the bowler who removed danger-man Lindsay, in a moment that turned the match.
The home side were determined to defend the total though and the chase by Bathurst was off to a less than ideal start.
Imran Qureshi (0), Dave Sellers (3), and Wayne Sellers (1), were all sent packing early, with a mere 15 runs on the board.
However, remaining opener Jaden Ekert held on for 24, before top scorer Mark Day helped to lay the foundation with 43.
Bathurst captain Adam Ryan steered his side to the win with his 39 not out, despite two others going for ducks.
The visitors lost six wickets on way to 123 in 24 overs.
Midwest's Ashley Honeysett claimed three scalps from his five overs, but it came at the expense of 37 runs.
Brian O'Reilly (1-9 off three) and Greg Reid (1-17 off four, with one maiden) were also wicket takers, along with Lindsay who took 1-0 in his one-over cameo.
While Lochie Endacott turned in an economic five overs - one of which a maiden - for just 15 runs.
The four-wicket loss leaves the locals in the middle of the Western Zone Premier League table, with two wins and two losses.
Midwest downed Cowra in Round 2 in October and made it back-to-back victories with a win over Parkes in Gulgong, last time out in December.
However, they opened the 2019/20 competition with a loss to the now second-placed Dubbo in the in the first round.
They next play Orange in Round 5, at Wade Park, on Sunday, February 2.

For the visitors, the win on Sunday extended Bathurst's unbeaten run in the 2019-20 Western Zone competition to four games and assures it a place in the decider regardless of results in the final round, when they host Parkes.
