Allan Border, the man who lead Australian cricket into its golden age and the namesake of its highest honour, will be making his debut at the event, however he should put in a strong performance as he's been seen at the Mudgee course before.
While professional golfers Nikki Garrett - who has two Ladies European Tour titles to her name - and the returning Paul Gow will no doubt set the pace.
Craig Johnston is also huge coup for the event. The Australian midfielder played over a decade in the English Football League [now Premier League] winning five league titles with Liverpool and scoring 40 goals - including finding the back of the net in the red's victory in the 1986 FA Cup final.
Once again there will be a whole host of former Rugby League players joining as well.
Penrith Panthers great, Australian hooker and NSW representative, Royce Simmons will line-up. Along with fellow former 'man in black' Luke Lewis, who has the astonishing distinction of two premierships 13 years apart.
Parramatta's first champion captain, Steve Edge, will be among a trio of Eels along with Ray Price and one of the organisers Peter Sterling. Edge - who has more grand final appearances than you can poke a stick at - was also a Dragon in his time, with Craig Young who's set for another go.
In addition to the professionals, there are some really handy golfers, Braith Anasta plays off one.
- Peter Mayson
The recently retired Trent Hodkinson is on board for the first time, with John Gibbs set to make his return. Since finishing his league career, Braith Anasta is proving to be just as at-home on the golf course and next week he'll try Mudgee.
Jo Banning and Malcolm Johnson will be back, with a bit of pressure on the latter who was a part of the winning Ross Granata team in 2019.
Event founder Peter Mayson said that not only does this year's lineup have credentials that speak for themselves, they should impress on the course too.
"In addition to the professionals, there are some really handy golfers, Braith Anasta plays off one," he said.
And the local course is once again looking a treat, with last week's rain greening up the fairways which had been struggling in the dry conditions.
Mayson acknowledged Ken Sutcliffe and Sterling for once again helping to procure an all-star line-up, along with Moolarben Coal's Scott Fittler and Steve Archinal for helping to grow the event as it nears a decade of existence.
And added that those who missed out on a ticket should "watch this space", because next year they'll be trialing a way to increase numbers at the dinner.
