I urge the council to purchase the building for use as a cultural centre for community use.
If purchased by a private investor I am concerned the building may not be saved or only be partially conserved.
We can not get these beautiful buildings back.
If we can build a wonderful sporting complex, the we can retain this iconic premises for community needs. It has been done successfully before in many other country towns.
It would really put Mudgee on the map as an even better tourist destination to enhanced our wonderful food and wine industry.
A cultural centre goes hand in hand with our current attractions.
