Batting first, Gaurav Sharma (20) and Damian Doherty (19) were Gulgong's best as they set just 67 for victory.
Skipper Andrew Best lead the way for Mudgee with the ball in hand, taking 4-12 from his seven overs. Cody Lawson claimed 3-12 off five; Brian O'Reilly 1-10 off five; Mark Bennie 1-8 off two and Phil Hamilton (1-8 off 2.2 overs) put the full-stop on the innings.
The visitors only needed 11 overs to chase down the target.
They lost Hayden Cox for 14, however, a top-knock by Tom Lawson (40 n.o) along with Best 10 not-out guided Mudgee to the 68 runs required.
Mudgee has now taken out the Australia Day clash three years on-the-trot, since Gulgong's 2017 breakthrough.
