Mudgee had the fifth most expensive diesel in NSW and regular unleaded petrol prices equal with Broken Hill for the week ending February 2, according to the NRMA Weekly Petrol Report.

The average price of diesel in Mudgee during that period was 156.6 cents per litre, which was 3.2 cents better than the most expensive in Cooma but 12.4 cents more than the cheapest in the state in Gunnedah.
This figure made Mudgee the most expensive in the Central West/West region, and 0.3 c/l more than second placed Broken Hill.
For average prices of regular unleaded petrol, Mudgee and Broken Hill were level at 152 c/l as the highest for Central West/West, which was a full 15 cents more than the cheapest in the region in Lithgow.
The most expensive petrol in the state for the week was in Maitland (159.2). And while Lithgow's 137 c/l was the second best average in NSW for petrol, it was still well behind Sydney's 129.6.
