Renee said February - being a slower month in Mudgee - was the perfect time to show unity and support each other as a community following a rough few months in the region and around Australia.
"Funds raised are going to the local RFS [brigades]. Some of the smaller ones because it's close to my home and because the smaller ones need a bit more of a hand. We're also supporting a wildlife rescue team that need things like blankets and tea towels," Renee said.

"February is a slow month in Mudgee and what better way to show our unity as a driving force behind the town than to get together and do something that can benefit us. You know what, people - just band together when we've going through rough times and it's about the community support.
"We've got the venue, why not do it here?"
The event will raise funds via drink sales at an outdoor bar, a raffle and an auction.
"We've got so much community support behind us that people have given us beautiful things...everything that's been donated, we haven't had to go too far at all to reach out for a little bit of support. It's been amazing," Renee said.

"You know, we've got lots of things for auction and yeah you can buy them anywhere in Mudgee. You can go to their business and buy it from them but that's not the point. The point is, these businesses have donated their things that they want to donate to charity so if [we] buy it, that all goes to charity."
The event kicks off at 6pm on Friday, February 7 and tickets are $30 per person. A ticket gets you a drink on arrival and canapes through the night.
If you haven't been able to get a ticket Renee said you're still welcome.
The regular kitchen will be open but it's worth noting that it isn't part of the fundraising efforts.
