Mudgee will be once again be awash with red, green and white on Saturday as the town gets ready for the 2020 Charity Shield. This is the 37th time the teams have met for the Charity Shield and it's expected to be an exciting night.

How do I get there?
Getting there is easy with a FREE shuttle bus going from Mudgee West (Nicholson Street, White Circle and Banjo Paterson intersection, Ingenia Holiday Park and Cox Street), CBD (Mudgee Tourist Office, Mudgee High School, St Matthew's Catholic School) and the Mudgee Racecourse. Find out more here.
The Glen Willow suspension bridge will be closed on Saturday, February 29 for the 2020 Charity Shield clash. The only walking route from the Mudgee CBD will be via the Holyoake Pedestrian Bridge.
People are also encouraged to use a free shuttle bus service that will be operating throughout Mudgee CBD. The image below from Council details the routes.
Dog park: Council has advised that Mudgee Dog Park will be closed on Saturday, 29 February due to the Charity Shield at Glen Willow Stadium. The park will reopen on Sunday, 1 March.Council apologises for any inconvenience.

The gates open at 3.30pm with the under 16s Andrew Johns Cup kicking off at 3.35pm followed by the Laurie Daley Cup (U18s) at 4.55pm. The Charity Shield will start at 7.00pm.
What can you bring?
According to Council's guide, you're encouraged to bring:
- Picnic blanket
- Small portable chair
- Tickets
However, the following items are not allowed:
- Shade or pop-up marquee
- Alcohol
- Glass
- Pets
Where is Glen Willow Stadium?
Start by setting your GPS to Mudgee. Once you get there head to the corner of Pitts Road and Pitts Lane.
The stadium has a capacity of 10,000 people (with 1,000 seats undercover), there is lighting, canteen and bar facilities, BBQ facilities and heaps more.
What else is on this weekend?
Make a weekend out of it by celebrating everything else Mudgee has to offer. Catch the Charity Shield on Saturday and then wind it all up with the Mudgee Race Club country championship heat on Sunday.

Saturday: According to the Mudgee Guardian weather forecast the temperature is expected to be no higher than 29 degrees on Saturday and there is a 5% chance of rain. Expect partly cloudy skies. If you're not sitting in the stands, bring an umbrella and slip, slop, slap.
