With the aim of recovering economic and social impacts of the recent bushfire disasters, the Mid-Western Council will receive $100,000 as part of the Bushfire Community Resilience and Economic Recovery Fund (BCRERF).

The BCRERF is a combined initative of the State and Federal Government, and Bathurst MP Paul Toole says the funding will go towards locally headed recovery efforts.
"The funding for Mid-Western Council is Phase One of this initiative which has a key priority to ensure resources are flowing to communities impacted by the bushfires," Mr Toole said.
"It is focused on delivering immediate funding to local councils that will start the community and economic recovery process. The funds will deliver locally-led recovery activities, led by councils, in partnership with other organisations."

The initiative is one of plenty measures being utilised for bushfire recovery which includes:
- Agreement with the Commonwealth to split clean-up and wast management costs 50/50
- Significant increase of the number of school counsellors in bushire affected communities
- Committing $1 billion to repair and rebuild vital infrastructure (roads, schools, rail-lines, health facilities)
- Establishing $75,000 special disaster grants for primary producers and a $50,000 recovery grant for small businesses to help with clean-up and reinstatement measures
- Setting up a one-stop-shop for bushfire assistance via service.nsw.gov.au or 13 77 88
- Loss of income payments for RFS and SES volunteers
